Suwanee Roofing

Suwanee Georgia is a suburb of Atlanta north of Beaver Ruin but south of the Gwinnett Place Mall and south of Sugarloaf and Duluth Georgia. Nalley Roofing has replaced asphalt shingle roofs for Suwanee homeowners for 18 years. From our headquarters in Braselton Georgia, our roofers serve Buford Ga, Lawrenceville, Snellville and Loganville, in fact every -ville including Dacula and Lilburn, even though they are not ville's Nalley Roofing has been your trusted roofing specialist because we have been around and we are staying around.

Other roofing companies come and go, but with Nalley Roofing your roofers have a workmanship standard that allows us to make a commitment that you can read on our web-site. Nalley Roofing stands behind our work and we use the asphalt shingles from companies that everyone knows like Owens Corning and Certainteed. These combine to make Nalley Roofing the best choice when looking for Suwanee Roofing.

Nalley Roofing would like to offer Suwanee roofing customers a free initial roofing consultation. If you are worried about hail damage or wind damage, our roofing consultant would like to schedule a time to meet with you on your roofing needs at the same time we meet with your insurance adjuster. Just a note of caution, after years of generous payouts on insurance claims for storm damage to Atlanta Ga roofs, insurance companies are hard pressed to approve claims and remain healthy with the reserves required for a truly big emergency. But Nalley Roofing has the roofing estimators experienced in dealing with insurance adjusters.

Asphalt shingle roofing has a lifespan in residential roofing applications generally of 15 to 35 years. Most asphalt shingle roofs should go at least 20 years and sometimes 30 years, but wind damage, hail storms and other environmental factors can take their toll on a roof. In Georgia the most economical asphalt shingle is the organic mat shingle, but in higher altitudes of the North Georgia mountains and the elevations of North and South Carolina many homeonwners opt for the more flexilble fiberglass reinforced mat asphalt shingles because they are less likely to crack in cold weather.

What sustainability is, in my view. Visualising a better Future How we live at home, part of "Should one work hard?",

We may retire to an autonomous house; I now have the PVelectrical system. Discussing some details of my life. our family travels in Malaysia and India; ( what we learnt )

I believe the human race passed a comfortably sustainable population in about 1950, at 2.5 billion, but now there's twice as many of us, and three times as many in twenty years, with a most influential minority using FAR too much. The middle-class and rich have the wrong goals (largely induced by Big Corporates' advertising), if the world is to remain as civilised as it was between '55 and '77 (not including Stalin and Amin).

__ The more-than-1-billion car-using, meat-eating destructive people (CuMeDs) will need to drastically reduce both their consumption and what they do! Doing too much, while there are too many people, should be reduced since this is the origin of most of our excess consumption. Job-and-income-sharing would be a major step in the right direction.

I have reduced my demands on the Earth to a bare minimum by spending US$950 p.a. TOTAL; including no more than US$450 a year, or $8.65 per week, on food (all of it bought at the supermarket). I buy as close as I can to nothing from Big Corporates. I pay for my share of the rates on our mortgage-free house, and I walk or (occasionally) take the bus, e.g. to buy the groceries. I walk barefoot year-round (at latitude 37, maritime climate), wearing thongs/jandals if the road is rough or my pack is heavy. I haven't thrown out clothes for a couple of decades, and I'm now gradually using up that capital investment. __ I am now free, from the boss's pressure to produce more and from "keeping up with the Jones's"! It's not exactly a religious decision, but it's based on some of the same basic impulses.

defining the Green vision: a decent standard of living The rational process of figuring out how out to achieve a sustainable world must begin with a nonrational act of imagination. As Donella Meadows has pointed out, most discussions of sustainability focus on implementation and ignore the critical questions of what the world of our dreams would actually look, feel, and smell like. The trouble is, the sustainable world generally offered by environmentalists is based on 'restriction, prohibition, regulation and sacrifice. ... Hardly anyone seems to envision a sustainable world that would be nice to live in.' This is a self-defeating lapse of imagination that could dim the prospects for achieving sustainability. There seem to be only two visions on the table. In the conventional vision, the human economy and population keep growing vigorously, and everyone eagerly chases the dream of greater consumption. The environmentalist point of view rightly denies the workability of this vision but offers in its place a kind of lifelong global celery diet. It is hardly surprising that most people choose the first path." Though I don't agree with this analysis completely — it's a bit glib for starters — it does give some plausible reasons for the difficulty of convincing more people of the need for change. We've been talking about what constitutes a "decent standard of living" (see below). I think this means we're on the way to describing a sustainable world that would also be "nice to live in". The above quote would suggest that this is an extremely important step.

Any more contributions to defining the "decent standard of living"? regards

Three pairs of shoes: winter, sneakers, >summer; plus a pair of thongs (shoes). Obviously, this >would change for people living in different kinds of climates. Along with >that, two sets of bedding, extra blankets and other such linens, a table >setting, a teakettle and assorted crockery. > >Decent, healthy food (not sure how to measure this) — plus access to the >niceties of life: shampoo, soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, toilet paper, >razors for those who want them, and other toiletry items. > >a way to cook and preserve food > >Public libraries in all their glory — > thank goodness we have achieved that here. > >Access to organized recreation for those who want it — in other words, >no-fee team sports > >Winter heating when necessary, fans in the summer when necessary > >One comfortable chair to sit in, a comfortable place to lie > >A radio > >Running, clean water piped to your house > >A bathroom > >21st C. version of a hope chest, with all your personal mementoes (- I later gave my minimum household necessities list : important subject and worth the effort to try to get the Green movement to think on it. ... the "global celery diet" remark ... could be irritating (or worse), especially out of the context of the entire book. However, when I read the piece it resonated instantly with Diane's idea of a decent standard of living. What Diane sees as the simple necessities of living comfortably, help map out a sustainable world "that would be nice to live in". Personally I have reached no definite conclusions on where the threshold of sustainability lies and it might well be lower than Diane's list would demand. At the moment, the significant thing seems to be that anyone is giving any thought to this issue. If someone like Donella Meadows (as quoted within the piece by Prugh) thinks this matter has not been properly addressed, and if it is as serious an omission from the Green political programme as Prugh suggests, then what you and Diane are doing here is very significant. It is, I think, fundamental practical politics for the following reason. What Greens are saying to millions of people in the developed world is that we must all give up our way of life in favour of something much more modest. The only way we can convince them to do so is with a convincing critique of present-day society — which I think we possess — and, hand in hand with that, a convincing vision of our alternative. The Green vision is hard enough to grasp at the best of times, and it becomes even more difficult when people start asking practical questions, like "what will my life be like in your sustainable Green future?" I titled my posting "defining the Green vision" because that is what you are helping to do. It is indeed important.

The only plausible explanation is that these diverse peoples were practicing similar methods because they worked! Shamanism is our common human heritage. In a world now out of balance, the shaman's path can teach us much. Core shamanism looks at universal or near-universal shamanic techniques without focusing on specific cultural elaborations. As a spiritual discipline, it can offer us access to the realms of non-ordinary reality that are mostly ignored in our culture.

By interacting with power animals and spiritual teachers, we can get questions answered, problems solved, and healing received for ourselves and others. As the end of this millenium draws near, more and more people are "coming to consciousness" about matters of the spirit, realizing faster and faster that the gods of materialism and greed which have ruled are no longer enough. People want more. There are, of course, many equally valid paths to spiritual "knowing." Shamanism is simply the path for me; when I found "core shamanism" I knew I was home. Today, we shamanic practitioners can, as have shamans for thousands of years, be public servants--to help make fragmented individuals, and eventually the Planet, more whole, more together. Pain and suffering are everywhere in this physical realm, and by working in cooperation in a reciprocal way with spirit helpers, we can help to ease this pain. The Healing Power of Shamanic Song One unique way to attempt to heal pain and illness is through SHAMANIC SONG, which I passionately believe is an extraordinary way to re-connect us with ourselves, others, and the planet. For the past few years, following the directives of my spirit helpers, I have come to realize the potency of singing in my own healing practice. I have always loved to sing, but I am not a trained singer or musician.

However, in doing my shamanic work, I consistently was guided to use singing to help myself and to help others. Thus, my healing methods have been transformed. No longer do I simply take a shamanic journey silently; now I rattle and sing my journeys out loud. No longer do I sit in nature and just listen passively to the messages the trees and air and water are giving me; now I pick songs off the air like ripe fruit from trees and sing them--songs about healing, songs about cleansing, songs about clarity. I no longer just lay my hands on clients; I now allow songs to come through me to help each individual. These songs are never the same, and often I can't remember them later. They are neither from me, nor for me anyway. They are uniquely suited to each client and each situation. In fact, often I am guided to put my mouth directly on or over a particular area of the body and sing into that site of dis-ease, sometimes while I am rattling or drumming. The vibration, as well as the melody, has strong healing power, particularly with localized illness. But perhaps the most powerful result I have seen occur from shamanic healing song is on the emotional level. When was the last time anyone sang to you? Maybe, if you were fortunate, your parents sang to you when you were a child, but that was likely years ago. When I sing to clients in healing sessions, I do so from a place of compassion as I "step out of my own way" and allow the loving powers of the universe to work through me. I focus on being a conduit, an "instrument" and indeed I feel "played through." When people feel this universal love, focused exclusively on them, and they hear a beautiful melody sung just for them, they often deeply moved. They may cry from a very deep place within themselves, or they may allow themselves to release their long-stored emotions in other ways. Also, shamanic singing does not require any type of musical aptitude.

Like toning, it is about tapping into our own soul songs, bringing them up and releasing them without concern for "how it sounds." Many of us were told at early ages that we couldn't sing, couldn't dance, didn't have any rhythm, and have become, as adults, afraid to express our true voices. We may only sing in the car when we are alone for fear of being ridiculed. I feel this is another way we become fragmented from who we truly are, by having our true soul voices silenced, by putting them on a shelf way deep inside ourselves. In my workshop entitled, "Singing the Shaman's Song," participants are given techniques to remove the blocks they've built up, to dust off their soul voices and then allow them to finally gush forth in release. The two-day workshop introduces a variety of shamanic singing techniques that I have learned about both from my own spiritual helpers and shamanic training and through research into the cross-cultural uses of shamanic song. By utilizing the shamanic journey, drumming, movement, and spending time alone in nature, participants will learn to apply song to heal the self, others and the planet. Therefore, over the course of the weekend, we start with the strictly personal and then gradually move to the more transpersonal. This movement supports the belief that one must heal the self before attempting to heal others, that healing begins with the individual and then extends outward to embrace all that exists, honoring our interconnectedness with all of life. Participants will leave the workshop with their own songs, techniques for healing with song, and ideas for how to manifest healing in their own lives.

Core Shamanism Michael J. Harner's (author of The Way of the Shaman ) Foundation for Shamanic Studies is an international organization of the highest integrity, completely dedicated to teaching and preserving shamanic ways, which are indeed our birthright. The Foundation offers many courses (weekend, five-day, and longer) in "core shamanism" which is non-culture specific shamanism. They only teach universal or near-universal shamanic techniques common to many cultures. I graduated in June 1998 from the Foundation's Third East-Coast Three-Year Program in Advanced Shamanism and Shamanic Healing, and to say the least, it has *changed* my life. I am have found my life's work: to be a tool for the spirits, to help others to heal. I do soul retrieval, power animal retrieval (restoring lost power connections), extraction healing (removing spiritual side of localized illness), psychopomp (death and dying work), and conduct workshops in introductory and advanced shamanic techniques. As part of my on-going interest in shamanic song, in addition to the workshop, I am also currently doing research into the healing power of shamanic song. I am doing research into existing scholarship on cross-cultural shamanism for three purposes: to categorize the uses of song in shamanic ritual to compile examples to support my workshop, entitled "Singing the Shaman's Song" to learn and record a variety of songs from different spirits, elements, and places in both ordinary and non-ordinary reality and their healing purposes. Then they may be used by *anyone* who is in need of them. If you have any interesting web sites or books I might find helpful in my research, or if you would just like to exchange ideas, please e-mail me, Tracey Besmark: Shamanism Links My friend Airyn has done a comprehensive catalogs of shamanic linkson the web, so I am linking you to her page, A Shamanic Path rather than duplicate efforts here.

Hi! You have found your way to my first Northern Gardening website at GeoCities. I made this gardening website way back in 1996, so yes, it is a little rough around the edges. I've long since moved to bigger and better digs at www.northerngardening. com, so please visit me there. Before you go though, I hope you will click some of the links in the award photos at the bottom of the page or my awards and links pages to get a feel for how it was in 1996 when the internet was still new. GeoCities was one of the first web hosts that offered people their own free website and the opportunity to be a part of a big web community where people could share their common interests. In fact, when I first started, GeoCities didn't even have pop-up ads! There was a sense of camaraderie then that I don't think we have now. I retrieved this old homepage from archive.org, a website that has archived web pages for over ten years, so many of the sites or pages that come up when you click the links don't really exist anymore. Enjoy my little trip to World Wide Web days gone by, and please visit me afterwards at Northern Gardening, 2007. Northern Gardening Northern Gardening is a practical resource for all gardeners, but especially those in a northern climate. I am the gardening columnist for a small Minnesota newspaper and have twenty years of "hands-on" experience working in my own gardens in Minnesota. Be assured that if a plant is mentioned in one of my articles it has proven its hardiness in my own northern gardens [zone 4]. If you would like to read some of my past articles, they are available below. I will be adding a new one monthly--so check back. I have also included a photograph album showing my backyard [page one and page two] as it has evolved. The album documents the changes over the years from my first small garden, to making the pond, and adding a gazebo. There is also a page with all my favorite gardening links. The list is becoming a little long--but at least it's alphabetized! I have also started a new award just for gardening sites at GeoCities. There are many outstanding garden pages here, and I would like to recognize the ones that I feel are the best. Enjoy your stay and if you have a few extra minutes please sign my guestbook. If you would like to be added to my monthly e-mailing list announcing the newest article, additions to my gardening page or other net news that might be of interest to gardeners, e-mail webmaster@northerngardening.com. "Until he extends his circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace."-- Dr. Albert Schweitzer Introduction Hello, my name is Susan Roghair, and I am the President of Animal Rights Online. Thank you so much for visiting our Web site! We have decided to devote our spare time to help the lives of animals. The animals are very dear to our hearts, and it saddens us whenever we learn of any cruelty, exploitation, and abuse toward them. Animals are suffering every minute, every day... in unnecessary laboratory experiments, where they endure physical and/or psychological pain before they are "sacrificed." Other "lab animals" are used in the testing of toxic chemicals, cosmetics, and almost every kind of household product. for "entertainment purposes" in rodeos and circuses, during the production of motion pictures, and in poorly designed zoos and aquariums. Animals are subject to dismemberment and death in staged dogfights and cockfights. on "factory farms", where their short lives are spent in unnatural, confined quarters. These animals are slaughtered and butchered in assembly-line fashion. Then they are eaten. for "sport" and for the fashion/clothing industries... Many wild animals are hunted and killed. Others die agonizing deaths in steel jaw leghold traps so people can wear their skins for clothes. close to our homes... even companion animals, our pets, suffer abuse. Allowing pets to overpopulate leads to starvation on the streets or euthanasia in the pound.

Ponce de Leon and the Fountain of Youth

Clement V was a man of God.

He was also known for his love affairs, nepotism (he made five of his family cardinals) and he left the papal treasury depleted from excessive personal use.

He was fair in the trial against the Order of the Templars: he called an inquiry for Paris on August 7th 1309, where every person (not only Templars) could in freedom defend the Order.

According to the king's logic, the Templars were guilty and thus have no right to defend themselves. Fortunately, the pope's logic is fairer. But, as the Templars appearing in this hearings were set free only for the time of appearance, they immediately returned to their prison cells after their statements.

Threatened by the french monarchy, that if he did not act promptly to arrest and prosecute the Knights Templar, he would raise suspicions of heresy himself.

And by blindly executing the king's orders, he showed that the pope is just the slave of the french king.

On 27th October 1307, he wrote to Philip IV a letter of complaint in relation with the ill treatment, including torture inflicted to the imprisoned Knights Templar.

About all, the pope complainted that the arrest of the king was illegal, as the Knights Templars were under authority of the pope, and he suspended the inquisitor Guillaume (Imbert) de Paris as he started questioning the Templars without the authorization of the pope.

North Carolina Data Info

Thursday 29 December 2011 at 12:53 pm

People wonder why the North Carolina sports teams like the UNC teams came to be known as Ter-Heels. Well we researched the problem and put the answer on our North Carolina Data Information Web-site. North Carolina is a state on the East Coast of the United States with Atlantic Ocean frontage and the city of Wilmington NC in the southern parts of the ocean parts. Near Wilmonton North Carolina are areas like Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Camp Lejune Marine Corps Base and the Croatan National Forest. North Carolina rises in elevation away from the ocean making the state topographically diverse more like California than Florida.

Cape Fear, NC is the scene of the famous thriller adapted by Hollywood into filmography. North Carolina features city centers like Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh. Raleigh has a tobacco sounding name and North Carolina has a rich history as a tobacco state. The state is also a center for banking, and has a long tradition of pine products like pitch and turpentine. The High Point area was for many years a center for furniture making and the rich supply of hardy pines helped fuel that industry.

More information can be found about North Carolina at NC Data Info
